Reflection

Khibra is knowledge that comes from experience rather than from report — knowing the inside of a matter, not the account of it. The same three letters give khabar, a piece of news, which is exactly the other thing; the root seems aware of the difference it is holding.

All six ayat carrying this written form end on it, and it is never left alone: al-Ḥakīm comes before it three times, al-Laṭīf twice, al-ʿAlīm once. Three of the six are in Sūrat al-Anʿām. Al-Khabīr is not the one who has been told — which means some things you could never put into words are not, for that, unknown.
